This is a traditional Navajo or Hopi overlay style created by James Grayhawk.  The pattern is cut from the top sheet of silver with a jeweler's coping saw and then soldered to a back plate to create the contrast between the highly polished silver and it's darkened background.  It takes a steady hand, good eyes and great patience to create this jewelry.  As always, his work stands out for its precision and creativity.
